What we do.

The short answer is, pretty much anything that's not Plumbing or Electrical.

Washington state law requires that all plumbing or electrical work be done by a person specifically   licensed  as electrician or a plumber.

Grout restoration and replacement

Often all that is wrong with a shower, floor or other tile work is grout that is stained or damaged.  Cleaning, replacing or restaining the grout can dramatically improve it's appearance and add years of life, while also preventing water leaks and damage.

exterior cleaning and pressure washing

Paint looking a bit green? Eves and soffits have some black stuff?  Stonework look a bit tired and dirty? We offer a variety of cleaning methods tailored to the surface. While pressure washing may work for some things, it is certainly not always the best choice. Even if it is it must be done carefully and with the pressure set to a level appropriate to the surface. Done carelessly it can easily cause damage.   We also offer a variety of environmentally sensitive cleaning agents. One that we use a lot for siding  is a  hydrogen peroxide  cleaner. This is a chlorine free, 100% biodegradable, cleanerIt works quite well on surfaces that do not have a heavy build up.

Concrete patching and repairs

While we don't pour large slabs, we do  repair cracked or damaged concrete. we also resurface and add texture or color.

Custom fences and screens

Don't want a boring fence?  We build and design fences, gates and screens.  A nice gate really adds to the look of a fence.  We can make gates and screens out of Cedar, IPE, or Teak.

ADA ramps  & Grab bars

We install grab bars, railings and other types of assist devices. We will help you to make your stairs safer and prevent falls, whether this is adding additional handrails, bringing current ones up to code, or adding slip resistant surfaces. We also build  temporary or permanent ramps over existing stairs.

Weatherproofing- Flashing, caulking sealing

This is an absolutely essential item in the Pacific Northwest. With our long periods of wet weather even a small leak can cause a great deal of damage. Keeping water out, and allowing for proper ventilation, will prevent both rot problems, and mold.  I believe you need at a minimum.   a 2 layer defense between your house and the elements. There should be no single item that can fail and allow water in. Three layers of protection is preferred.  It's just a matter of paying attention to the details and taking the time to do it right. In the end, it does not matter how good your project looks, how expensive the components are, and how nice the finish is, if it's not fully weatherproof.

rot repair

Unfortunately the  first thing on this list is not always done  correctly.  Sometimes it's only a tiny hole at the corner of a window,  and only a little water gets in during the rain, but then it is trapped there and the area stays wet for the next eight or ten months.  Water intrusion like this can cause  minor damage, or big  problems that necessitate major repairs.  It's always hard to tell exactly how bad it is until the area is fully  exposed. With differing construction techniques and materials, water can go in different directions and damage different components. Sometimes it's far worse than it first appears, other times there is far less damage that what was expected. Whatever the damage is, we'll get it fixed, and make sure it does not happen again.

Window and door repair & replacement

Your doors, especially exterior doors are something you use multiple times a day, they provide a barrier between the inside of your house and the outside elements.  If you need new locksets, adjustments, have a   drafty doors, one that doesn't  close properly,  or just a weathered door, We can have your doors and windows looking good, weather tight and secure.

Deck work-

Decks are an important part of every house. They are the spot for BBQ's, family dinners, Sunday morning coffee, and quiet evenings with a glass of wine. Being outside on the deck lets us enjoy the great scenery here in the northwest.  However it is also that Northwest weather which can be a bit hard on our decks, porches, and patios. We can evaluate your deck for structural soundness, proper attachment to the house, including  correct flashing  where it meets the house, a common trouble spot that can cause major damage. It may be  just some refinishing work, or replacement of some boards is all that is needed. Perhaps your deck is just getting worn out and it's time to upgrade. From a wide variety of woods, to all of the various composites available now,  we can get your deck looking and working the way you want it to.
